Bengala is a font based on calligraphy and geometry, designed by Carlos Fabián Camargo. It is intended to be an innovative typographic system that combines script letters with geometric letters and hard caps. Its contrasting styles are ideal for designing covers, posters, logos, and packaging. Its soft, calligraphic appearance meticulously incorporates characters to design logos and phrases that convey dynamism and strategy. Bengala Script is inspired by Mistral, by R. Excoffon. Bengala Script features bold, unstable strokes with generous letter spacing and tight horizontal proportions, producing eye-catching cursive uppercase and lowercase letters inspired by late 15th-century French Gothic calligraphy. For this reason, Bengala Script maintains a certain uninterrupted calligraphic logic, with ascenders and descenders that are sometimes taller or shorter than the height of the lowercase letters, creating dynamism through a variable contrast between thick and thin strokes. Bengala Dingbats features 62 symbols designed to complement the typefaces. Bengala Script and Bengala Caps belong to different styles, and their similar x-height enhances their visual appeal. Thus, Bengala Caps—inspired by the Porsche logo—features a geometric Roman capital construction, elongated horizontal proportions, a light weight, rounded stroke terminals, and generous letter spacing.
