Although it draws its initial inspiration from the typographic aesthetics characteristic of late 19th-century typefounding, Apothicaire is not limited exclusively to that historical reference. Through the integration of a contemporary design methodology, the system is structured around three width variants—ranging from condensed to expanded—and five weights—ranging from light to extra bold—thus offering a vast spectrum of combinatorial possibilities for graphic exploration.
As a key technical feature, the typeface family is available in a unified variable font format. The OpenType technology features a refined set of small caps, a variety of delicate ball terminals and swashes, as well as the ability to select from an extensive repertoire of alternative glyphs. Finally, Apothicaire guarantees comprehensive support for a wide range of languages based on the Latin alphabet.
