Ryman Gothic is inspired by American woodcut typefaces and Gothic typefaces, primarily the work of Edwin Allen and Morris Fuller Benton. The result is a hybrid that combines Gothic proportions with the contrast of woodcut typefaces. While the consonants were drawn following Gothic proportions, the vowels were designed to be slightly wider, making them not only more legible for long blocks of text but also more visually appealing.
Ryman Gothic includes 8 weights plus their corresponding italics, ranging from Thin to Heavy. Each weight includes extended language support (Latin + Cyrillic + Greek), ligatures, arrows, and much more.
