Revolver is an experimental typeface conceived through a methodological process inspired by the recording techniques used on The Beatles’ album *Revolver*. Its development draws on principles such as layering, random assembly, and the manipulation of sound fragments, translating them into the realm of type design. In particular, the typeface draws on the compositional structure of the song “Tomorrow Never Knows,” where tonal repetition and the incorporation of nonlinear elements create a disruptive narrative.

Formally, the typeface is constructed around a dominant horizontal line—evoking writing systems from South Asia—upon which strokes derived from various sources and calligraphic gestures are articulated. These elements are integrated through a process of fragmentation and recomposition that emphasizes directional variation and apparent randomness, producing a dynamic and unconventional visual system.

The result is a hybrid typographic proposal that explores the boundaries between structure and chaos, as well as between control and experimentation. Revolver is currently being digitized and forms part of a line of research aimed at translating methodologies from other fields—in this case, music production—into contemporary type design.
