This year we attended the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in Italy. On our days off, we went to Piazza Maggiore to explore what the city had to offer, and, as luck would have it, we saw an incredible sign that read CAMPORA. We took some photos of the typeface, and once back in the studio, we discovered it was Dynamo. We were immediately captivated by its beauty and decided to design a new font inspired by its geometric and sharp character, adding new weights and OpenType features.
In the process, we realized that both Dynamo and one of our favorite typefaces, Avant Garde, share a similar structure, so we created a typographic mashup between these two beauties, combining Dynamo’s precision with Avant Garde’s revolutionary ligatures.
