The Atocha Script typeface family represents the third stage in Joluvian’s personal cartography, consolidating a design methodology based on an aesthetic response to the residential environment. In this work, Madrid’s sociocultural dynamism acts as the catalyst for a morphological investigation that seeks to capture the essence of the Atocha axis. The project transcends mere signage to become an interpretation of Madrid’s Genius Loci, where the fluidity of the calligraphic stroke engages in a dialogue with the architecture and rhythm of the metropolis. From an academic perspective, the font exemplifies how the creative process draws inspiration from everyday experience, transforming the city’s sensory stimuli into a system of functional and expressive signs.
