The Horizontes Script family is the result of a research project on experimental calligraphy developed by Panco Sassano. The genesis of this typographic system lies in the search for a syntactic balance between the spontaneity of the stroke and formal sophistication, finding its visual reference in the horizon line of the author’s hometown.
From a technical perspective, the typeface is characterized by an energetic and organic stroke, exhibiting natural fluidity in its connections. The system incorporates a wide range of OpenType features, including proportional variants, a vast array of ligatures, initial and terminal characters, and ornamental elements (flourishes). To ensure its editorial functionality, Horizontes Script is available in two weight variants, optimized respectively for large-scale formats and smaller-body compositions.
In terms of application, it is an ideal solution for primary hierarchies and short texts where the typographic form takes on additional semantic value. Its structure—harmonious yet bearing a distinct authorial stamp—is ideal for projects that require evoking distinction and warmth without resorting to the rigidity of formal conventions. Produced under the technical direction of Alejandro Paul for the Sudtipos type foundry, this typeface represents a contemporary synthesis of artistic calligraphy and typographic engineering.
