The Antica typeface family is an advanced exploration of the so-called “Latin typefaces” that proliferated during the commercial revolution of the 19th century. Unlike its historical counterparts, which were used as isolated weights for advertising purposes, Antica offers a complete visual grammar comprising eight weights with true italics. The design captures the aesthetic urgency of an era defined by the growth of mass consumption, where typography had to serve as an immediate visual hook. Through the integration of sharp triangular serifs and a robust architecture, Antica transcends its origins as a display typeface to become a versatile tool, capable of rendering everything from stylized labels to highly complex editorial systems.
