The Buffet Script typeface family marks a milestone in the revival of American advertising typography, based on Alf Becker’s alphabets published by *Sign of the Times* magazine in 1941. The project goes beyond conventional digitization by tackling an extremely complex calligraphic style, in which the original strokes and flourishes intertwine in a “wild” manner. Academically, Buffet Script represents an exercise in structural redrawing, in which each curve has been individually designed to address the limitations of the original printed material. It is a work that revives an almost extinct manual craft, transforming a static specimen into a dynamic system capable of emulating the fluidity of the brush with contemporary technical precision.
