This project was born from the intention of correcting the mistakes created by previous administrations. Since 1980, when the previous manual for signage was created, the regulation applied to public signage was neglected, which generated chaos in the supervision of what was allowed and what was not.

Mexico City at that time had more than 10 typographic families in use in its road signs. This prevented the creation of a "reading system". For this reason it was decided to develop an integral signage for Mexico City with a custom-made typographic family.

Normally in Mexico we tend to copy programs and ideas that are made in the USA or Europe. However, on this occasion we started with the premise of creating something specifically for Mexicans and their reading needs.
