It is a typeface family based on the logo and back cover of the first album of the Mexican rock band Botellita de Jerez, founded in 1983 by Sergio Arau, Francisco Barrios and Armando Vega-Gil. What started as a mere amusement grew to be a very powerful, urban and runic reminiscent title typeface. It contains some unusual ligatures for frequent Spanish words such as ch, ll and rr. There was an early version with a limited character repertoire (2007), which was used sporadically. To celebrate the Bottle's 40th anniversary, this update - much corrected and augmented - is distributed free of charge under the SIL Open Font License as of April 2023, which will undoubtedly broaden its impact. The moral of the story is: it's best to hit the guacarrock hard.
