Its forms are inspired by the first geometric typographies of the 40's and 50's.
The compositional element is the circle, which combined with the straight line and curves allows for novel construction possibilities without sacrificing the recognition of shapes. The capitals have a slight curvature that goes beyond their X-height, giving them greater amplitude. In the Black or super black version, the capitals have certain angles, which give them movement at the top. Proteo is a very wide typeface, due to its circular structure, so it needs a generous box to be arranged comfortably. At the moment there are 4 variants, Proteo light, Proteo italic, Proteo black and Proteo black italic.
