This family was created for the exclusive use of Editorial Progreso, a publishing house specialized in textbooks for primary education, in order to solve the composition of words and short sentences with which, in Mexico, handwriting is taught to read and write. Since no commercial font met the handwriting model demanded by teachers, the elaboration of these texts was entrusted to a calligrapher, which implied delays and not entirely predictable results.
To faithfully reproduce the calligraphic model without collisions between letters, it was necessary to program multiple alternative glyphs and ligatures. The family is complemented by a bold and a dotted version. All three fonts have the same side spaces, so there is no text flow when selecting one or the other.
