Fondo is a typeface awarded in 2008 with the certificate of excellence in type design by the Type Directors Club of New York, and selected in the biennial of Latin American typography Tipos Latinos 2008. Its main use is the composition of text in the most important books, so it includes the common visual variants in this type of applications: round, italic, bold, bold italic and round small caps. In its design, an attempt was made to reconcile the characteristics of European and American Renaissance typography of the 16th century with elements of a contemporary typeface family, typical of the 21st century.
