Note. Specimen of the typeface Fondue. Copyright by Latinotype.

Fondue is a contemporary typeface with an eclectic flavor. Designed by Jorge Alberto Martínez and the Latinotype team, Fondue is inspired by the lettering designs during the Art Deco period. Far from copying the models of the time, it aims to be an adaptation of the thinking and style to be used in the contemporary context. Fondue has a cursive ductus, a wide horizontal proportion and a large x-height. Its pleasing rhythm makes it ideal for medium-sized text, headlines, marks, etc. The family comes in 6 weights, from Thin, which recalls the loose strokes of cartoonists of the time, such as the lettering done by Ernesto "El Chango" Cabral in almost all the publication "Revista de Revistas", to Ultra Bold, the version with a powerful and unique voice. Fondue has a character set of 496 characters compatible with 207 different languages. OpenType features include standard and discretionary ligatures, as well as stylistic alternatives.
