Libreto is a typeface family with a mechanical-humanist style, optimized for professional publications printed with home reproduction methods, such as inkjet, photocopier, laser printing and risography. It was created as an alternative for theatrical script typesetting. It includes ink traps in key parts of most signs and low contrast after identifying the problems of color loss and ink expansion when printing classic style typefaces using self-publishing methods. It is suitable for immersive reading thanks to a wide x-box and generous counterforms, allowing each line of text to be clearly marked. It has features common in fonts used by playwrights, such as lapidary finials with rounded apexes and teardrop-shaped endings.
