Algarabía Joy is a provocative, multilingual text typeface created by Leonardo Vázquez, originally intended for a Mexican magazine of the same name as its main font, and now available to the public. Inspired by Aaron Burns' ITC Berkeley typeface, it retains its calligraphic style and weight, but introduces design features that may surprise, yet go unnoticed when used as the main text, giving the typeface a unique personality. It includes versions of Small Caps and Small Caps italic in all variants, making it ideal for magazines, art books or other publications seeking legibility and originality.
Algarabia Display was created for titles or to highlight specific text. It includes a set of accented uppercase and lowercase letters, almost a hundred ligatures, leading and trailing capitals, symbols, punctuation marks and numerals, and almost 50 different types of dingbats. It's a typeface for fun.
