The Scrapbooker Set series, developed by Carolina Marando and Alejandro Paul, is a study of visual intertextuality and the preservation of memory. Inspired by the practice of scrapbooking—understood as the creation of material chronicles through the convergence of diverse objects—this collection of six typefaces treats the word as a tactile element within the composition of a personal journal. Academically, the set functions as a system of semantic anchoring, where each typeface variant contributes a distinct “voice” or personality, allowing the narrative of memory to be both fragmented and cohesive. The project champions the act of “writing one’s own story” through an aesthetic that emulates the formal diversity of the analog world and the sensibility of the private archive.
