The Inglesa typeface family represents a profound reflection on the legacy of expansionist calligraphy in the Latin American educational sphere. The project draws on memories of high school calligraphy classes to reinterpret the Copperplate style through the lens of regional identity. Academically, Inglesa functions as a synthesis in which the technical rigor of the flexible nib is enriched by a “Latin flair” that softens the rigidity of the traditional British model. This transition from manual practice to the digital environment allows the typeface to transcend mere historical imitation, establishing a distinct personality that balances pedagogical nostalgia with the sophistication of 21st-century type design.
