Espinosa Nova is a rescue based on the typefaces used by Antonio de Espinosa, the most important Mexican printer of the 16th century and, possibly, the first punchcutter of the American continent (1551). In 2010, its main fonts were awarded two certificates of excellence: one by the TDC2 (Type Directors Club Typeface Design Competition) and the other by Tipos Latinos (Latin American Typography Biennial). According to Robert Bringhurst, this is "an unusually intelligent typeface family that harks back to one of the most exciting moments in the history of typography and looks forward to the typographic future". All fonts intended for typesetting include small caps, five sets of figures and many long f and s ligatures. In addition, the Capitular fonts make it possible to create interesting effects by layering. This family feels very comfortable in books, but can be used anywhere where a touch of classicism and elegance is required.
