Calavera is a series of exhibitions inspired by 19th century Mexican engravings and Mexico's rich culture of papel picado. This traditional art, which consists of paper cutting, is rooted in the folk traditions of many countries, as well as throughout the length and breadth of Mexico. In particular, in Mexico, papel picado is widely used in the celebration of the Day of the Dead.
