Nikola is a text typeface that offers a wide range of possibilities. While its regular and medium weights were specifically optimized for maximum performance, balanced for excellent readability, and carefully crafted to lend a touch of tradition to lengthy texts, its extreme weights, on the other hand, were designed for more decorative use, and thanks to the flexibility offered by their numerous alternatives, flourishes, decorative cartouches, borders, and ornaments, they can give text a vintage, reliable, dynamic, sophisticated, and even playful feel.
Nikola includes a large set of over 1,400 glyphs, support for more than 200 Latin-script languages, and 1.21 gigawatts of the finest typographic design generated by classical proportions, the elegance and formality of the early 20th century, and a touch of expressionism in its terminals and serifs.
Nikola is named after Nikola Tesla as a tribute to the pioneers of the electrical age.
