Barronegro is intended to be a typographic synthesis of the richness in gastronomy, food, clothing, color, and handicrafts of the State of Oaxaca, located in southern Mexico. It has short ascenders and descenders and a somewhat twisted and expressionist structure, highly influenced by baroque typography. Its canes maintain a change of temperature in the line and have an intermediate contrast; it maintains a narrow opening in letters such as "a". This typeface was designed with the purpose of being applied in literary texts of medium length, such as stories and legends.
