The LIN typeface is a digital typeface designed by the Mexican studio Cuatro Ojos with the purpose of adequately representing the writing of the 68 indigenous languages of Mexico. This project was commissioned by the National Institute of Indigenous Languages (INALI). LIN's design is based on linguistic studies to include a wide repertoire of characters and diacritical marks, crucial elements to accurately reflect the particular phonetics of each indigenous language. To achieve this goal, LIN uses the advanced features of OpenType technology, which allows integrating the typographic variations necessary for the correct writing of each of these languages.
