NT CEDIM is a monospaced display typeface developed in 2023 as part of a formal and conceptual evolution of typographic systems designed for educational, digital and experimental environments. Its direct antecedent is BA-2016, a typeface originally designed for the Buenos Aires Design Week. That initial version laid the structural foundations: a rigid geometric skeleton, fixed width and notable ink traps, elements that are now refined and adapted in NT CEDIM with a more academic, contemporary and versatile look.

Conceived especially for the context of CEDIM (Centro de Estudios Superiores de Diseño de Monterrey), this new version seeks to communicate the core values of an institution focused on innovation, creativity and the training of future designers. The choice of a monospaced model is not only a nod to the languages of code and technology, but a functional decision that favors alignment, legibility in interfaces and typographic use in programming environments, visual logs and modular systems.

Formally, NT CEDIM is characterized by its basic geometric shapes and didactic tone, which makes it ideal for representing learning processes, prototyping and experimental communication. Its sober but expressive construction -enhanced by the cavities of the ink traps- generates a recognizable visual texture adaptable to variable scales. It is a typography that achieves a balance between the technical and the playful, between the systematic and the open, reflecting the essence of design as a discipline in constant exploration.
