The Feel Script typeface family marks a milestone in the history of design by reviving and expanding the legacy of calligrapher and logo designer Rand Holub. Originally based on the Monterey typeface for Intertype, Feel Script transcends the technical limitations of metal type to offer a systematic and fluid interpretation of Holub’s original stroke. Academically, the project stands as the “happy ending” to a technological narrative spanning three eras: from the manual gesture of the pen, through the rigidity of mechanical composition, to the versatility of Bézier curves. With more than 1,200 glyphs, this work not only preserves an iconic advertising style but also endows it with a high-fidelity digital architecture.
