The Merengue Script typeface family, developed by Panco under the supervision of Alejandro Paul, represents a sophisticated exploration of the autonomy of the graphic sign. The project deliberately departs from the conventions of traditional calligraphy to propose a system in which the characteristics of the brush pen are drawn and illustrated, rather than executed gesturally. From an academic perspective, this approach allows for a systematization of forms that endows the typeface with an unusual personality and superior morphological authenticity. It is a typeface that challenges the dichotomy between text and image, transforming each string of characters into a visual composition with a harmonious rhythm and a powerful physical presence.
