"Montemayor" is a typography that was created inspired by the history and the process of the founding of the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon: its failed attempts, the first colonies, the extreme life both for its climate and its original inhabitants (the erased) who were erased from history. The typography has an incised morphology, a semi-homogenous stroke and a slanted axis, with insinuated serifs inspired by carved letters; it has modern proportions, straight vertices, vertical terminations; it is condensed in counterforms and contains full extended Latin diacritics. The typeface will be part of the Santa Lucía 2022 Festival in Monterrey.
