Kukulkán, designed by Raúl Plancarte, is a typeface that articulates a balance between formal tradition and contemporary innovation. Its structure, derived from a reinterpretation of Roman letters and fantastic styles, is distinguished by its expressive plasticity and solid stroke, qualities that reinforce its functionality in continuous texts. The typeface family, available as a variable font with 42 styles, also includes an ornamental collection of 150 dingbats based on Mayan hieroglyphic iconography, which accentuates its cultural and historical value. Kukulkan's formal proposal incorporates stylized references to pre-Hispanic aesthetics, especially in its darker versions, without limiting itself to a local context, but integrating fluidly with a diversity of global visual languages. Its application in editorial and cultural design evidences its versatility, allowing both high-impact headlines and the development of distinctive visual identities, consolidating itself as a typographic tool of broad scope and refined aesthetic sensibility.
