In the confluence between the serenity of the urban environment and the quietness of the evening, where tradition and contemporaneity dialogue, the conceptual substrate of Portuguesa is established.

Inspired by the graphic heritage of Portugal's historical packaging and commercial vernacular signage, this typographic system aspires to a visual transliteration of the warm and luminous phonetics of the Portuguese language. The project is structured as a triad of variables designed to operate in cohesion and mutual complementarity.

First, Portuguesa Script presents a rhythmic ductus and an affable personality, optimized for the composition of headlines and short texts. In counterpoint, Portuguesa Caps incorporates small caps and ligatures that harmonize - and deliberately contrast - with the calligraphic version. Finally, Portuguesa Icons is reminiscent of the legendary tradition of Lusitanian tiles. This last variable was specifically conceived for the modular articulation of signs, allowing complex ornamental configurations for the design of patterns, borders, institutional stationery and commercial surfaces that require a memorable visual imprint. The combinatory possibilities are, in fact, inexhaustible.

As an underlying philosophy, Portuguesa projects a constant positive disposition, spreading the famous Portuguese art of hospitality.
