BUAP Sans is a skidless typeface with a hybrid style whose references come from the humanist forms of the sixteenth century and the grotesque forms of the twentieth century. Its purpose is to build formal, legible and visually interesting communications. It has rounds and italics, as well as twelve weights ranging from the lightest to the thickest in its 520 characters, useful for 196 languages. It includes Elzevirian numerals, small caps, figures for stencils and a set of arrows. Traditional and contemporary, BUAP Sans seeks to give graphic identity to the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, as an expressive vehicle for the dissemination of science, technology, sports, culture and the arts. This is the first custom type designed for a public university in Mexico.
