Organic and sublime, Fansan is an Art Nouveau-style typeface family that includes roman, italic, and optical weights. Its roots can be traced to famous typefaces such as Benguiat, Windsor, and Melbourne—world-renowned typographic references that share a sense of imperfect charm.

The Art Nouveau aesthetic influence in Fansan is evident in the ascender found on most characters. Applying this ascender consistently throughout the entire character set was a major challenge in the family’s design. The sharp terminals of several lowercase characters—including a, f, and g—provide a visual link between the uppercase and lowercase forms. As a result, Fansan can be elegant and pointed in its lighter weights, and playful and full of character in its heavier styles.

Fansan is ideal for use at large sizes where personality is required.
